It was a battle of business skills at the Two Rivers Convention Center on Monday.

More than 450 high school students competed in the annual Future Business Leaders Of America District Conference.

20 high schools competed in events including interviewing, presentation and emerging business issues.

Students say it's not only a fun way to learn business skills for when they graduate, but life skills and confidence.

“I went into high school really shy and quiet and afraid to talk to people. And you know , now I'm just out of my shell and really confident.. And I think it really prepares you for the real world,” said Amy Nelms, FBLA member.

Winners from today's competition will head to the state competition. That event will be in Vail in April.
