Wednesday, Grand Junction city council members will talk about putting more restrictions on massage parlors.
They city says it’s all part of an ongoing effort to monitor potential criminal activities. City staff is recommending the council look at a new ordinance to regulate and license massage parlors.
The new licensing that is being proposes would give law enforcement more opportunities to monitor businesses before problems arise.
The problem was brought to light in the last couple of months when the Grand Junction police department raided Fuji Massage. The owner of that business is facing pimping and racketeering charges for alleged illegal activities at that business.
A public hearing will be held tonight on the issue.
