Marillac Clinic Offers an Option To Budget Cuts; Medical

With American's losing their jobs and cutting their budgets one area that may be getting cut is medical expenses. This is one area you shouldn't' skimp on and there's a local clinic that can help.

Gas, groceries and medical care they can all add up to a lot of money each month. With more and more people losing their jobs some are losing the medical insurance that went along with it meaning even more money out of pocket.

At Grand Junction's Marillac Clinic more and more clients are coming in the door. While the clinic has seen a gradual increase every year this year that increase has already been higher than normal. People who didn't used to be eligible for their services may be now because they lost their jobs or have been cut back on hours.

Marillac services those who've fallen on hard times but says they are not a walk in or free clinic. There are certain criteria you have to meet to qualify for their services. Their services range from medical care to mental health you can even get your eyes and teeth checked and get prescriptions. So even with tightening budgets families don't have to skimp on their health.

There's some extra help for kids at marillac, too. The community relations director tells 11 news that it may be a good idea to check and see if you kids qualify for help even if you don't.
