The mother of a six-year-old girl who walked out of Chatfield Elementary Monday afternoon says she wants to see procedural changes in the school district.

Auri Ogden says her daughter, a first grade student at Chatfield Elementary went to the nurse and was sent back class showing no signs of illness. Ogden says the girl went back to class and told her teacher that she was going home and her mother was on her way to pick her up. That's when the girl just walked out of school and the school says no one saw her leave. The girl’s babysitter found her two hours later a block from her home crying.

The school says they've had a meeting to go over proper procedures when students go home sick. The students will either need to have a note or an announcement will be made over the loud speaker.
