The Mesa County Library kicked off its community book club project this morning. It's been hosting one book, one mesa county for five years..
Officials are asking people to come by and pick up a free copy of the book, read it and leave it anywhere around town.
The library says the event is meant to bring the community together and bring in authors from across the country. This year's selection is "extremely loud and incredibly close" by Jonathan Safran Foer.
Foer will be making a stop at the Grand Junction Avalon Theater on March 27th at 7:00pm.
VIP tickets will be given to those who attend book discussion groups between Februrary 18th and March 23rd. Those who attend will also be invited to a reception with the author.
