Friends and family gather to remember an 18-year-old Mesa State College freshman killed in a car accident.
The funeral for Samantha Loy was held Thursday at Callahan Edfast Mortuary. Two large poster boards stood at the entrance to the chapel filled with pictures of Samantha. Friends call her the “all American girl”, cheerleader, pageant contestant and college student.
Along with the pictures were notes from family and friends telling her how much they miss her and how she had once brightened each of their lives.
Loy died Sunday after she rolled her car on Interstate 70 near Fruita.
The Colorado State Patrol says she had been drinking and she may have been texting and not wearing a seat belt when the accident happened.
