Gas prices continue to rise despite oil prices hitting a yearly low.
On Thursday oil prices closed below 34 dollars a barrel - the lowest price so far for 2009.
Gas prices however are climbing and the national average for a gallon of gas has jumped almost two cents over the past four days.
Experts say it’s because the oil prices that are tracked aren’t necessarily tied to the type of oil that’s used to make gasoline.
In Grand Junction the price of gas is currently at 1.84 for a gallon of regular. This time last month it was around 1.60 a gallon.
