Police are searching for vandals tonight after a rash of crime in a Grand Junction neighborhood. Police say the windows of two cars were possibly shot out with a BB gun.

Matt Moore lives in the 200 block of Orchard Avenue and he says for some reason his house is being targeted by vandals. Moore, "we've had things of ours vandalized three times over the past three months or so." First someone knocked his motorcycle over, scratching the plastic casing and breaking the mirrors and then someone threw things at their house and cars, trashing them.

Sunday night the driver side window of Moore’s roommates truck was broken, he says, "it seems like its escalating slowly but surely."
Kate Porras with the Grand Junction Police Department says because it's President's Day more information on vandalism in the area isn't available, but she knows there was one car that was broken into last spring. She says there are things to do discourage vandals, "always park in a well lit area if its by your house or at the store. It will deter thieves from targeting your car."

She also says not to leave valuables in plain sight in your car. Porras says that may encourage vandalism as well and if you see a crime being committed, report it to crime stoppers immediately. Moore adds, "not sure who's at fault here but we are sure the victims."

Police say they are still looking at evidence from the vandalism's and no suspects have been named yet. Depending on the amount of damage done, the perpetrators could face up to one year in jail and or a $1,000 fine.
