The new lead law is already costing businesses around the area a lot of money. ATV's and dirt bikes designed for children have already been pulled of the showroom floors because they contain lead that's higher than the new law allows. The dealerships are being forced to pull items from their sales floors and hold them.

The manufacturers of the equipment are appealing the new law because they say there isn't any risk to children in the real world. During the appeal is process, dealerships are stuck holding onto products they can't sell because manufacturers are not taking the units back.

Dealers also have restrictions on the parts they can sell for the units you may already own.

Dealer news has estimated that the affected inventory could be more than one hundred million dollars nationally.
