Smuggler's Brew Pub says it has had to cancel its special showing of an HBO film about two local soldiers that was scheduled for Saturday night.
The restaurant's owners say they had planned to show "Taking Chance" in the bar as it premiered on the cable channel.
The film tells the story of Palisade High School graduate Chance Phelps -- who was killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq -- and Lieutenant Colonel Mike Strobl, the Grand Junction man who volunteered to escort his remains home.
Smugglers says it had to nix the viewing party because of trademark and copyright issues with HBO. The owners say they're disappointed it couldn't proceed as planned, but they will still hold a small tribute Saturday night and will be offering food and drink specials to anyone who was planning on attending the film premiere.
