The Grand Junction Police Department is following up on leads that a child abducted from another state may have been spotted at Mesa Mall.

Officials say police officers were dispatched to the mall, after they received a call from someone inside who thought they had seen a person that looked just like a child who was reported missing.

They say officers searched the area and spoke to the person who made the call. At one point officers went to a kiosk near Target to look at what appeared to be surveillance video.

Officials had no other information on a possible suspect or victim, or where the abduction may have taken place.

At this point, they say they have not determined if the sighting was legitimate or not.

I am glad that they took that sighting seriously. When we had a sighting of our daughter who was abducted back in August we were told they could not look at the surveillance video and the sighting was blown off.
