A 37–year–old hiker is recovering at St. Mary's tonight after quite a steep drop on the Colorado National Monument.
Her son was trying to grab his jacket near a ledge on Devil's Kitchen and he slipped.
She went to help him and they both fell nearly fifteen feet into a crevass only inches wide.
They were hiking with other family members who helped pull both of them out.
They waited for a rescue team and were taken to the hospital at around 3:30 this afternoon.
The son is fine, but the mother may have broken her ankle.
