Baby Hit By Car in Orchard Mesa, Grandpa Arrested

Colorado State Patrol is investigating an accident that sent a baby to the hospital.

The accident happened just before 7:00p.m. in Orchard Mesa off of Unaweep Avenue and 28 Road.

Colorado State Patrol says a car was being worked on in a garage at 2799 Unaweep Avenue. Troopers say a man pulled the car out of the garage and backed over a one year old girl.

Troopers believe the driver of the car is the victim's grandfather. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI. His name is not being released at this time.

The baby was rushed to the hospital, her condition is unknown.
