If you have received a text message about a shooting at Wal-Mart, officials with the Grand Junction Police Department say it's just a hoax.

School Resource Officers and the Grand Junction Police Department received numerous questions today about a text message saying several people would be killed at Wal – Mart.

After an investigation, they've determined it's all a hoax.

According to police a text message was sent out saying several people would be killed as part of a gang initiation.

Officers have hot found any evidence that this is a credible threat and say if you receive the message, you should treat it like any other spam message and delete it.

Grand Junction police say this message, or one very similar to it, has been going out across the country.

Many women here have received this text as well. Only difference is the message was directed that this would happen to 3 women. It's Spring Break here, sounds like kids don't have anything useful to do.
