Friends of a mother and daughter killed in a drunken driving accident hit the streets Friday waving signs and shouting slogans. All to send a message.

"Don't drink and drive," shouts Claudia Chadwick at the corner of 5th and North. That simple message was repeated on signs and in other voices.
Shandi Botel and her daughter Natalia were killed last month in an accident at the same intersection by a driver police say was intoxicated. Friends of the mother and daughter say they hope to raise awareness so other don't have to go through the same thing they did.

"I'm sorry it had to come to the fact that someone lost their lives and daughter's life but maybe it will raise awareness," said Kathryn Jasper.

Flowers and cards were also placed at the intersection. The baby's father, Louis Cassiano who was also injured in the accident, is listed in fair condition at St. Mary's Hospital.
