Right now many people are having a hard time paying for prescriptions that aren't covered by their insurance.
Fortunately, Mesa County has a prescription discount card that offers savings for the uninsured and underinsured.
The card is available to all Mesa County residents starting today and offers an average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of many commonly prescribed drugs.
Officials say the card is like a coupon and there is no limit on how often it can be used.
The cards can even be used for pet medications as long as the drugs are covered for humans.
Discount cards are available at any of the following Mesa County buildings:
Health Department (510 291/2 Road)
Sheriff’s Office, Records Counter (215 Rice Street)
Old County Courthouse (544 Rood Avenue)
Workforce Center (2896 North Avenue)
