A mother and her young child have been transported to the hospital after being struck by a truck at the corner of 13th and Orchard in Grand Junction.
11News has a crew on scene who says an accident involving a white Pontiac Grand AM and a Toyota Tundra caused the Tundra to go up onto the sidewalk striking the mother and her infant child as she was walking.
The force of the impact sent both mother and child over a four-foot fence and both have been taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The drivers of both vehicles appear to be uninjured. The westbound lanes of Orchard Avenue in the vicinity are closed.
