The Colorado Department of Corrections says Nemnich's criminal history dates back to 1962 when he was arrested in Boulder on charges of, assault with intent to rape, along with assault with a deadly weapon and larceny.

He went to prison for a year before he got out on parole. A year later he violated that parole and went back in the system until 1967. He was released again on parole.

In October of 1968 Nemnich was arrested again, this time in Pueblo and again for assault with intent to committee rape. He spent close to five years in prison before getting out. But once again he violated the terms of his parole and went back to prison for a year.

For a third time Nemnich went back to prison in Colorado in 1978 for first degree assault. This time he spent 14 years behind bars before being released on March 13 of 1992.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigations also lists arrests for fraud, sex assault/rape, kidnapping, and weapons violations.

In court Friday district attorney Pete Hautzinger said that Nemnich may have been living in Longmont during the last five years.
