State troopers say a deadly weekend crash is a strong reminder to check your tires.
Colorado State Patrol says drivers should not only be aware of the amount of tread left on their tires, but also their age.
Auto experts say the maximum amount of time you should use any tire is six years and that it may be a good idea to replace them before then, because the wet Colorado weather can cause the inside of tires to rot.
Officials say you can find a four digit number on your tires that tells you the exact week and year they were made.
