New oil and gas rules set to go into place on federal lands have been delayed until July 1.
Today state regulators agreed to a two month extension for implementation of the new rules in order to allow for more time to negotiate an agreement with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
The governor has still not signed the new rules into law but has until May 15 to do so.
The new regulations are aimed at protecting wildlife and the environment.
