It's a gentle reminder of the victims of child abuse.
CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, of Mesa County is dedicating a park bench in recognition of the thousands of victims of child abuse in our area.
CASA says ever year about 2,700 referrals of child abuse/neglect are reported to Mesa County Department of Human Services. They also say at any time there are at least 350 children living in out-of-home placements.
The dedication is Friday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m. in Longs Family Park, 3117 F Road, near the playground. The event's guest speaker will be the Honorable District Court Judge Valerie Robison.
