The Mesa County Coroner's Office is hoping the public can help them identify a man that was found dead over the weekend in the Colorado River.

The body was spotted by two transients just after 10 a.m. Saturday washed up on an island near Power Road.

The Coroner's Office says the body is badly decomposed and may have been in the water for weeks or months.

Because of that they say it will be extremely difficult to identify.

The Coroner says the man was in his late 40s to 60s, balding, was 5’ 9”, and had a moustache and short beard.

They say he also has tattoos of a medieval sword with snakes around it and a dragon on his left forearm.

If you think you may know who he is, you are urged to call the Mesa County Coroner's Office.
