Alleged Robbery in Fruita Leads Authorities to Mesa Mall

Officers with Grand Junction Police, Fruita Police, and the Mesa County Sheriff's Office surrounded Mesa Mall late Monday night reportedly looking for robbery suspects.

Not much is known at this point but according to our crew on scene the alleged robbery happened around 9 p.m. Monday night in Fruita. The suspects then reportedly fled to Grand Junction and their car was seen at Mesa Mall.

Our crew on scene saw authorities detain one juvenile who was sitting in the car. Then officers proceeded to search Mesa Mall for other possible suspects but were unable to find anyone else. The juvenile was later released.

The case is being handled by Fruita Police who plans to release more information on the incident later Monday morning. Stay with 11 News for the latest on this story.
