Botched Bag Bandit fails again

Another robbery overnight has police looking for a would-be purse snatcher.

A good Samaritan and witness to another local attempted purse snatching is giving police more details on the suspect and the vehicle he's driving.

Police say the suspect in a botched bag snatching in Fruita last night is similar to another in Grand Junction on Friday.

Fruita Police say a Hispanic male in his mid–20s tried to take a woman's purse as she was walking in Fruita around 8:30 p.m.

The woman held onto her purse and fell into the street as the suspect struggled with her.

The woman's cries for help were answered by a man who was nearby.

He chased the suspect from the scene and to his car, described as a tan Ford Taurus.

The man is between 5’ 6” to 5’ 8” with a mustache.

The suspect fled to Grand Junction and the Mesa Mall where 11News crews responded last night to find area law enforcement officers from several local agencies searching the car and looking for the suspect.
