The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stolen vehicle case after a Moped was found crashed outside a home overnight.

Around 2 a.m. the Grand Junction Fire Department and Deputies responded to a Fruitvale home after they got reports of an accident involving a Moped.

When they arrived they found the moped lying on its side with heavy damage but no one was around.

Deputies say it appears that whoever was driving the Moped had flipped it several times.

The owner of the Moped lives close to where it crashed and told deputies he didn't know how it got there and suspected it had been stolen.

Deputies are still looking for a suspect.
