There have been two attempted purse snatchings in less than a week in Mesa County and police believe they've arrested the man responsible for at least one.

Officers arrested 19–year–old Adrian Peters Tuesday on charges of aggravated robbery, menacing and assault Tuesday.

They are not releasing his picture until the victims identify him in a line–up.

Police say Peters tried to steal a woman's purse in front of Two Rivers Convention Center last week.

They say if you're ever confronted, it's better to just hand over the goods.

To protect yourself, police recommend that you always scan an area before you walk, trust your instincts, and leave large amounts of cash, unnecessary credit cards, and Social Security cards at home.

Police believe Peters may be responsible for another attempted robbery that happened in Fruita Monday night.
