As the weather gets warmer most parents and kids are thinking about the end of the school year.
However, for those that will be going to school for the first time next year it's time to think about the start of the school year.
Tuesday, School District 51 will hold a Preschool Open House.
From 4 – 7 p.m. parents can visit with teachers, pick up an application, and have questions answered. For more information, call 254–5429.
Tuesday is also Kindergarten Round Up, the kick off event for kindergarten registration. Kindergarten Round Up will be held at various times throughout the day. To find out what time it will be held at your area school call 254–5311. Parents need to bring a copy of their child's social security card, immunization records, proof of residence and picture I.D. to register. For more information on attendance boundaries visit the School District's Web site (link below) and click on the Parents tab.
Students must be 5-years-old on or before September 15, 2009 to enter kindergarten in the fall. Students must be 3 or 4-years-old on or before September 15, 2009 to enter their respective preschool programs in the fall.
