On Monday Governor Bill Ritter proclaimed May as “Rediscover Colorado Month”, asking state residents to go out and enjoy their own backyard.
To the help them do that, the Colorado Office of Tourism has launched a website, where people can find discounted travel packages and other special offers for dozens of places across the state.
Officials say in 2007, tourists spent more than 9.8 billion dollars in Colorado and generated 763 million dollars in sales tax revenues for the state.
