Since the late 1940's, some of the finest sharpshooters in the West headed to Gateway to see who has the best long range aim.
the target... a soda can stuffed with T.N.T.

There's 200 targets that range from 100 yards to 1000 yards and sportsmen buy tickets for a round of shots: some of the money goes to Gateway's Volunteer Fire Department, and some goes to whoever hits a target.

Contestants are from all over from Colorado Springs to Fort Worth, Texas, ranging from teens to seasoned veterans.
