School's out in just a few weeks and Grand Junction Parks and Recreation department is gearing up for a big summer. With many programs to offer from hour long classes to week long programs the city has a lot of activities to keep your little ones busy this summer.
Some of the programs are designed to take the place of daycare and these programs keep your children active. Their Score program is sports related and keeps kids active. Their stars program is more arts and crafts based and is very popular. Add on a pool program and you have activities that will keep your child busy form 8am to 5pm. for less than $100 for a full week.
So if you are one of the many parents in the Grand Valley who enjoys these activities, the Parks and Recreation department urges you to plan ahead so you don't miss out. Larry Manchester, recreation supervisor says that he expects some classes will fill up, especially for Stars, they are very popular. So he recommends that you sign up early of you already know the weeks you want.
The summer programs start June 1st and run through the first week of August. If you sign up early and run into a problem you can always transfer to a different week.
