A teenage girl was sent to the hospital overnight after falling off of a moving car.

Grand Junction Police were called out to Lincoln Park just before 11 p.m. Thursday where they say a group of high school kids were hanging out at the park.

One decided to leave and didn't realize there was a girl sitting on his trunk. When he made the turn out of the parking lot she fell off.

The girl was taken to the hospital. Her injuries were not serious and she has since been released.

The driver was given a sobriety test and passed but was cited for reckless driving.
