Grand Junction's 2009 downtown event season kicked off with the 21st annual Wells Fargo Art and Jazz Festival. People flocked in from all over to attend the event. There are over 80 artists lining main street from 3rd to 6Th streets and 11 musical performances scheduled for the stage at 4Th and Main.
People are urged to use the parking deck on Rood Ave. All four floors are open at no charge. This event lasts all weekend and it's just the first for the season.Kathy Dirks says "everyone loves the summertime outdoor events, they can stroll down main street, eat outside and bring the kids meet up with friends and the best part is that all the events are free."
This is also the weekend for the installation of the 2009 art on the corner sculptures. 30 new sculptures will be added to the downtown sculpture garden on Saturday morning and the public is invited to attend. For the full schedule of events click on the link below.
