A man is behind bars after he stole a car overnight and then crashed it.

According to Grand Junction Police the man broke into the High Desert Auto Dealership on 10th and Pitkin, grabbed a set of keys and drove off in a Subaru.

The man was caught in Collbran around 11 p.m. Sunday when he crashed the car through a farmer's fence. He was not seriously hurt.

The Collbran Marshal has him in custody and the faces charges of burglary and auto theft, among others.
