Get ready to shell out a couple more pennies to mail a letter.
Starting today the cost of a stamp goes up to 44 cents.
Those who bought forever stamps before today's increase will still be able to pay the lower rate.
Postal officials estimate the increase will cost the average household $3 more a year.
Prices for other services, like standard mail, periodicals, package and extra services will change too, but express and priority mail rates will not.
