A Grand Junction man who shot another man in the stomach will be sentenced in July.
Michael Lamenca has accepted a plea deal.
Lamenca originally pleaded not guilty back in January but has since changed his mind. He pled guilty to first degree assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious bodily injury.
Lamenca is accused of shooting Jeremy Rosales in the stomach in October of 2007.
Lamenca says he thought the gun's safety was on and didn't mean to shoot Rosales.
He is being held at the Mesa County Jail on a $225,000 bond.
He'll be sentenced at the end at July.
