A shed that caught fire early Tuesday morning has been determined an arson.
Around 2:45 a.m. the Grand Junction Fire Department was called to a shed on fire at a residence on Cheyenne Dr. When crews arrived the homeowner was attempting to put the fire out with a garden hose. Firefighters were able to get the fire out in about 15 minutes.
Damage is estimated at around $2500 for the shed and it's contents. The grand junction fire department is still investigating but say the fire was set intentionally.
Officials told our crew on scene that they see similarities between the way this fire was set, and the way Trinity Baptist Church in Orchard Mesa was set on fire and vandalized early monday morning. Police are also still looking for suspects in that incident. If you have any information call Crimestoppers at 241-stop (7867).
