Thursday morning on 11 News Live Today Jean Johnson with The American Cancer Society stopped by our studios to discuss the Relay for Life.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out overnight and take turns walking or running.
Jean said right now they are looking for teams and team captains. There will be a team captain meeting Thursday May 28th at the First Congregational Church, located at 1425 N. 5th St across from Grand Junction High School. The Relay for Life will be held June 19-20 at Canyon View Park from 6:00 p.m. Friday to 10:00 a.m. Sunday. Jean is also asking all cancer survivors to register for the relay and also join the American Cancer Society for a lap at the relay at a reception beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Canyon View Park on Friday June 19th.
