The Latimer House has seen a 30 percent increase in domestic
violence calls over the last four years and until now, the shelter was having to pull out trundle beds and cram multiple families in one room.

But recently, the shelter got a grant for a new safehouse but that safehouse is empty.

The Latimer House is collecting household items for the new safehouse, items like:

-Linens: Twin bedding, towels, kitchen linens
-Kitchen Items: Small appliances, dishes, silverware, pots and pans
-Electronics: TV's, DVD players, stereos
-Decorative Items: Lamps, paintings

You can drop off your new or gently used donations to KKCO at 2325 Interstate Avenue or call (970) 243-1111 on Friday May 22 until 5pm.

If you don't make it by the station, you can drop off donations at the Latimer House in downtown Grand Junction or call the number below.
