In recent years, more than 17,000 World War II vets have been flown to Washington, D.C. to see their memorial.\
A chapter here in Grand Junction is trying to make that happen for 85 local vets.
The group says it's raised more than $70,000 for the trip so far and while they could still use a little more money, they say they need a lot more volunteers to take the trip to help the vets.
If you're interested in becoming a Guardian, click the group’s Web site below.
The trip will cost you $950, but includes air fare, ground transportation, lodging, and food.
Organizers say the experience will be priceless.
