It is not known how seriously a man was injured overnight after he jumped from the roof of a downtown business.

Around 3:20 Wednesday morning a downtown security guard called police because he saw someone climb onto the roof of the ruby canyon bicycle shop in the 300 block of main street suspecting that they were trying to rob the store.

Dave Stassen with the Grand Junction Police department says when officers arrived on scene they saw the man jump off the roof. Police say they are still investigating and they don't know why he was on the roof and don't know his condition at this time, but say he was alive when he was rushed to the hospital.
