The spring Open Burning Season is now over and officials are warning folks not to light up.

The season officially came to a close yesterday.

You can still have a campfire, but that's about it.

Folks in Collbran and Debeque can still burn but they need to get a permit through the Mesa County Health Department.

As an alternative to burning you are encouraged to use the Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility located at Mesa County Solid Waste Facility off Highway 50. It's free of charge.
