A man wanted for shooting at a car full of people has turned himself in.

Mark Edward Young is now behind bars.

He walked into the Mesa County Sheriff's Office around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday morning for the 45–year–old.

Deputies say Young was involved in a shooting incident at his home at 1640 P Road in Loma.

Young is accused of using a high powered rifle to shoot at a car carrying several people.

The incident stemmed from a fight.

S.W.A.T. officers responded to the scene and believed Young was still inside the home.

They tried for six hours to contact him.

Then, just before 4 a.m., they forced entry to the home and found it empty.

Young is facing charges of attempted first degree assault, felony menacing, and more.
