Garfield County authorities were back on scene near Canyon Creek Saturday morning, as they continued their investigation into a body found there Friday morning.
Officials say at 8 a.m. Saturday, Garfield County Sheriff's deputies, members of the Garfield County and Mesa County Search and Rescue Teams, and CBI agents resumed combing the area for evidence.
The body was found just before 11 a.m. Friday, by a teen working in an orchard along County Road 137. The area is roughly 5 miles west of Glenwood Springs.
Investigators say they are treating the case as a homicide.
An autopsy was performed on the body at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Grand Junction.
Officials are not releasing any details about the victim at this time.
County Road 137, also known as Canyon Creek Road remains closed to the public. Residents are being allowed onto the road only with an escort.
