With a new baby comes a whole new adventure and a lot of things to learn.
Some local volunteers have created an initiative aimed at helping new parents make this life–changing transition a little easier.
The initiative is called "How are the Children?" and on Monday representatives presented their progress with the program.
Volunteers who have been working on rolling it out for the past several months and they say their goal is to help new parents cope.
The group has several different committees focused on various areas of support, including one that aims to improve communication between local agencies that help prevent abuse, a family support hotline, and a Baby Binder designed to educate new parents about how to care for their babies.
The binder also includes a CD of lullabies written by two local artists.
They plan to sell the CDs as a fundraiser for the program.
