A Clifton man who raped his own daughter is headed to jail.

A judge sentenced the man to 90 days in jail, 20 years probation and he'll have to register as a sex offender.

11 News has chosen not to release the man's name to protect the young victim.

Investigators say the dad molested his eight–year–old daughter several times while the girl was staying with him.

The victim's mother tells 11 News she's angry that the sentence is not longer.

The DA's office says the suspect had no criminal history and the family did not want to put the little girl through a trial.

Prosecutors say those are two of the main factors that played into the plea deal.

The judge's name should have been given along with the D.A.s name. This case should have been put on the front page of the paper along with you giving it more time. Names did not have to be given, it was a cop out the way the judicial system just let this go. The father should have been sentenced up to 25 yrs. I'm so sick and tired of the way our our courts make excuses for when a young girl gets raped and the lame excuses they use. And you people dropped the ball for not having the D.A. come on and explain the reasoning, the mother wanted more time. Also the child did not have to show up in court the judge should have taken the child in his chambers or closed circuit. Maybe you people should bring up Jessica's Law which our legislation is to lazy to even consider. If it was one of their own children which was raped our beloved legislation wouldn't quit until the rapist was put away for life. How pathetic our judicial system is. Please don't drop this story.
