Dozens of hot rods rolled into the parking lot in front of Rooster's Restaurant in Grand Junction Saturday, but it wasn't just about showing off the rides, it was also about raising money for Mesa County Partners.
“We just thought it would be a great thing to show community involvement. I've been a resident here for 35 years, Partners is a great organization so it was natural to have them come on," says Steve Danner, owner of Rooster’s.
Mesa County Partners helps troubled youth in our community and officials say they are grateful for this event, “We had a lot of cuts this year and this helps us out a lot to raise money for our programs to keep running,” says DJ Cardova, the crew supervisor for Partners.
This car show was the first of many that will be going on this summer. There will be a show the first and third Sunday of every month through September. The shows are free for car owners to register in and free for the public to attend. The event is funded by sponsors and all proceeds go to Mesa County Partners.
