Grand Junction man killed in hit-and-run accident

A Grand Junction man was killed early yesterday morning in Kansas.

Authorities there say it was a hit and run accident and now they are looking for the driver.

Twenty one-year-old Christopher Lyons was walking along Kansas 18 when he was run over.

No suspect vehicle has been identified.

    I knew Chris as a young boy. He was a very loving, energetic boy. I think it was rude of 11 news to post a picture that is so upsetting to this young man's greiving family. I hope you learn in the future to be more respectful when airing stories like this.

    Chris Lyons was my best friend as well as loved by many people in grand junction. I grew up with him and hung out with him since kindergarden and it a very tragic situation. He was a local recording artist and very talented. If you are interested in his music email

    I think the thoughtless fool who picked the picture for this story is a complete idiot! The family would have provided a decent picture if they had been asked. It would have taken a few minutes of each persons time and there would have been less harm done to an already greiving mother.

    I can't believe News 11 would put a picture like that up, that is not what my brother looked like! I don't know where they even got that picture have some respect for the family and either don't add a picture or find one that wouldn't upset my Mother!
