Family Health West hosted an opening ceremony Friday at its new 40,000 square foot hospital in Fruita.
Officials say it will be a great addition to the community, “I think it's an amazing opportunity for the community in that we can provide more services and surgeries, and Fruita residents have it close to home,” says Angelina Salazar of Family Health West.
The new hospital will provide inpatient/outpatient and ambulatory care, general and orthopedic surgeries, Medicare skilled nursing, physical rehab therapy including speech and occupational therapies, imaging and radiology, emergency room care, fully service laboratory, and 16 private inpatient rooms. The nursing home and Alzheimer’s unit will stay in the old building, which sits about a quarter block away from the new hospital.
The public is invited to attend a showing of the hospital from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Saturday morning. A continental breakfast will be served. The new hospital is located at 300 W Ottley Ave. in Fruita.
