Officials have reopened both directions of I-70 after they closed it due to smoke drifting over the highway from about noon until 2:45 p.m. Monday.
Mesa County Sheriff's Department officials say the fire that started yesterday near the old Fruita Refinery resurfaced just before noon and jumped from the north side of I-70 to the center median. Officials say the fire burned roughly 200 acres.
A number of different agencies responded to the fire and equipment included a helicopter and slurry plane.
No structures were damaged in the fire.
