11 Sports Anchor Sam Farnsworth continues the month of 11 Cares with a special report on local volunteers making a difference halfway around the world.

All month long we've been showing you what it means when we say 11 Cares by bringing you the inspirational stories of people making a difference in the community.

Sam's story is about a group of Grand Junction residents have built an orphanage in Zambia for kids who's parents have died from AIDS/HIV, and other causes.

"These remarkable people have also built a school and provide education, health care, and housing for these kids," Sam says. One way they help raise money (100 % of the proceeds go towards the up-keep of these kids) is by hosting an annual golf tournament at Redlands Mesa Golf Course. "So in a way, they are using the game of golf to help kids in Africa," he says.

Join Sam for this 11 Cares for Volunteers: Locals Lending Helping Hands in Zambia Special Report tonight at 10 p.m.
